Supporting the public libraries of

Jackson County, North Carolina

About Us

Fontana Regional Library supporters at a Jackson County Commissioners' meeting

JCPL Allies is a non-partisan, grassroots organization committed to defending the integrity and inclusivity of the Jackson County Public Libraries.

We are dedicated to supporting the retention of all library materials, opposing censorship, and advocating for transparency, ethical leadership, and community-informed practices in librarianship and library governance.

We work to educate the public on the importance of a wide variety of materials, programs, and displays that reflect and serve all members of our community.

Through outreach, events, and public engagement, we hold officials accountable to their ethical commitments, and we champion libraries as vital spaces for knowledge, connection, and civic responsibility.

We are working on behalf of the Jackson County Public Library Complex in Sylva and the Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library. We are proudly affiliated with Our Library, Our Voice of Yancey County, North Carolina.
